Freedom Programme Group
The Freedom Programme is a nationally recognised educational course designed for women who have experienced domestic abuse or controlling relationships. Developed by Pat Craven, the programme helps survivors understand the dynamics of abuse, recognise unhealthy behaviours, and begin to rebuild their confidence and sense of self.

All is good thank you …I have a carpet and a proper bed now. I wouldn’t have got here without your help.
I couldn’t have done this without you, when nobody else believed me you did.
I wouldn’t still be here if it wasn’t for VOICES
Shared Experiences are transformative
Alongside this, participants learn about “The Respectful Partner” — a model that shows what a healthy, equal relationship should look like. This contrast empowers women to rebuild their sense of worth and make informed decisions in future relationships.
A key strength of the programme is the peer support it fosters. Being in a group with others who have had similar experiences helps reduce feelings of isolation, builds trust, and nurtures lasting confidence.
The Freedom Programme is not therapy, but it is a transformative step toward recovery — helping survivors move from surviving to thriving, with clarity, strength, and support.
