Advocacy and guidance

We’re affected in so many different ways when we have been in an abusive relationship. That is why VOICES provides individual recovery support tailored to your needs.

We can provide information & guidance to help you make choices and regain some control over your situation, and advocacy to help your voice be heard by other services.

Individual recovery support

What does it cover?

We offer emotional support and also help with more practical matters such as housing, education, debt, finance, benefits and legal issues. If we need additional expertise, or know another service that can help you, where possible we will collaborate with others or help you gain access to other help. Within VOICES’ own service, we have our own therapists, groups, a free legal clinic and individual 1-2-1 support.

How do we work with you?

Our clients tell us that knowing what to expect and being provided with information and choice helps to build trust and feel safe. We’ll talk things through with you and help you get any information and help that’s needed (emotional or practical). We’ll support you in deciding what is the best way forward and who are the best people to help with this.   We’ll help get your voice heard and do our best to make sure you are listened to.
