Child and Adult Safeguarding Policy and Procedure

VOICES’ Impact Reports can tell you more about what issues we are trying to address, how we create or inspire change, what our goals and challenges are, and what demonstrates that we are achieving what we set out to do. Most importantly, the voices of people we support should be at the heart of any reporting we do.

Child Policy Statement and Key Principles

VOICES recognises our responsibility to be aware, open and proactive in the field of safeguarding children. This policy has been written to ensure that the charity takes every reasonably practicable measure to safeguard children and young people. In the context of this policy, this relates to anyone under the age of 18. Please click the link below to read the full policy.

Adult Policy Statement and Key Principle

VOICES is committed to ensuring that any adult who has care and support needs (who uses or assists the charity) are not abused and that working practices minimise the risk of such abuse. See below link for the full Policy link and section 1 Definitions and Guidance.

Staff, Volunteers, Trustees and/ or Steering Committee members of VOICES have a duty to recognise, identify abuse and follow our reporting procedure where there are concerns. See section 2 Responsibilities below.

VOICES will ensure all staff, volunteers and trustees are recruited responsibly, DBS checked, inducted in our safeguarding policies and Procedure, see section 3.

VOICES Staff, Volunteers and Trustees will receive up to date training to enable them to perform their role in line with best safeguarding practices for adults and children.
